Beautiful hair starts with the right care. Following a consistent aftercare routine will help maintain the appearance, softness and longevity of your hair extensions while protecting your natural hair.
Washing Your Hair
-Use a professional extension safe sulphate and paraben free shampoo and conditioner. Hair extensions need lots of moisture. Coco Hair Extensions shampoo & conditioner is always recommended. -Avoid applying conditioner or treatment directly on the attachment points of the extensions.
Drying & Styling
-Gently squeeze excess water from your hair using a soft towel, avoid rubbing. -Never go to bed with wet hair -A straightener or curling iron with adjustable heat settings is best and trying not to exceed 180℃. -Avoid heat on the hair extension bonds A heat protectant is recommended before any heat styling.
Brushing
Brush your hair at least twice a day or as needed. Always start at the ends and gradually work your way upwards. Avoid pulling on the attachment points. A detangling spray is recommended to help avoid knots.
Sleeping with Hair Extensions
Sleeping with your hair in a loose plait is recommended. A silk pillowcase or bonnet can help reduce friction, breakage and tangles.
Swimming, Exercisise & Sun Exposure
- Chlorine, salt water and prolonged sun exposure can affect the condition, colour and lifespan of your hair extensions. - If you do swim wash your hair thoroughly as soon as possible afterwards.
